LOWVILLE Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at the Y intersection of routes 12 and 26 in the village.
Village police said Katherine N. Rozanski, 92, Lowville, entered a construction zone, drove past a flag person at a high rate of speed and hit a pair of vehicles ahead of her that were being driven by Scott J. Teal, 21, Lowville, and Lester L. Schermerhorn, 62, Castorland.
Ms. Rozanski and Mr. Teal were injured in the crash, as were two passengers in the Rozanski vehicle and one in the Schermerhorn vehicle, police said.
All five were taken by ambulance to Lewis County General Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The street was closed for about two hours, police said.
