Two small barefoot girls, one in her diaper and the other in pajamas, were discovered Tuesday afternoon wandering on Bradley Street, according to Watertown police.

Their father, Jason M. Beach, 26, of 592 Meriline Ave., had fallen asleep while watching television, and did not know the girls, ages 1 and 3, had left the house, police said.

Mr. Beach is summoned to City Court to answer a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. Police said he is accused of failing to provide adequate guardianship.

Patrols were notified at 4:16 p.m. about the girls being seen unattended at Bradley Street and Alexandria Avenue, and by the time an officer arrived, the two were found in the road on Morrison Street. The older child was able to lead the officer to her home, where police said Mr. Beach was unaware of the girls’ absence.
