I have recently been reading that my hospital (Lewis County General) is considering not renewing the contract of emergency room physicians Dr. Daniel Cappon, Dr. Jon Hager, Dr. Sean Harney and Dr. Robert Harryman. It has always been a comfort to feel you know the doctors who are there, if needed. We havent used the E.R. recently but have had the service of these doctors in the past and been more than satisfied with their high quality of care. They are excellent physicians as well as being friendly.
It wasnt too long ago that I became very upset when my surgeon was fired. Dr. James Stillerman was so good to me in both his skill and his demeanor while treating my cancer. Fortunately his friends and patients were able to help overthrow that big mistake. Now another one looms that is completely foolhardy. I do hope the chief executive officer and hospital board can be convinced not to make another major negative decision. Lets keep our hometown hospital just that hometown. Familiar faces are like good medicine when you are sick and hurting.
