WILLIAMSON Tommy Markham of Constableville powered his No. 21 car to victory in the 50-lap super stock race Saturday night at Spencer Speedway race track. It was the first time that Markham had ever raced at the speedway. The feature had been scheduled for Friday night but was postponed due to rain.
Markham drove the only Ford in the feature to the winners circle. He was awarded more than $900 for the victory, which also included bonus and lap money.
With four laps to go, Markham took advantage of a break as the first- and second-place cars crashed. Markham took the lead on the restart and held on.
Markham returned to racing in August after a three-year hiatus. It was his first win since the 2008 season.
