CHAUMONT Linda M. Cornell, 49, of 9728 County Route 125, was arrested Thursday by the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force on allegations that she possessed an ounce of methamphetamine early Wednesday in her home.
Charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, she was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, with bail set at $10,000 by Lyme Town Justice Robin J. Curtis. She awaits possible grand jury action.
The substance, as well as other drugs that have been sent to a lab for identification, were found in her home by a Jefferson County sheriffs patrol that responded with an ambulance after she was suddenly taken ill, according to the county narcotics unit. She was taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, and was arrested following her discharge from the hospital.
