A state prisoner was charged Thursday by state police with first-degree criminal possession of dangerous prison contraband and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
No information about the charges against Neco Green, 22, was available Friday from state police, but a spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision said the inmate is being held in disciplinary confinement at Elmira Correctional Facility as a result of an incident Sept. 14 at Watertown Correctional Facility at Dry Hill in which he was found concealing a razor blade on his person.
Mr. Green is serving a term of up to five years, given him in September 2010 for first-degree robbery in Kings County. He was being transferred from Ulster Correctional Facility to Gouverneur Correctional Facility, and was discovered possessing the razor blade during a stopover at Dry Hill, she said.
