Jacob Marcellus was diagnosed with brain cancer called medulloblastoma at age 4. He had a large tumor removed from the base of his brain, but it grew back to half its size in two weeks.
Jacob spent six weeks in Boston for radiation and had 11 months of chemotherapy in Burlington, Vt., and Syracuse. Jacob now has to have an MRI every three to six months for the next two years.
He has lost some of his ability to walk, suffers permanent hearing loss, has double vision and left side weakness. He continues to have occupational and physically therapy twice a week and is still very sharp minded.
The Norwood American Legion is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner to help raise money for Jacob.
The dinner will be on Oct. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. Spaghetti with Sergis sauce, tossed salad, garlic bread, coffee and dessert will be served for $10.
If you are unable to attend but would still like to give, donations should be sent to P.O. Box 221, Norwood, N.Y., 13668, payable to Jacob Marcellus Benefit.
