This panoramic view was taken from the Rothstock Building in downtown Watertown and appears in a booklet called ‘Picturesque Watertown N.Y.’ published for W.H. Moore’s 5 and 10 Cent Store in 1905. The Rothstock (later Empsall’s) was a new eight-story hotel and department store. The caption reads: ‘Looking up Franklin Street. Y.M.CA. Building in foreground. ‘Bonny Brae’ the proposed residence addition to the City Park is located back of this section, the park proper on the left. The finest macadam roads are being built through this section to connect with Washington Street shown on the right.’
