OGDENSBURG — Allan R. Arquitt, 59, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at the home of his daughter in Edwards where he was under the care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 9th at 11:00 am at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Fr. Stephen Rocker, pastor of St. James Church, Gouverneur officiating. Calling hours are Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

Allan was born December 29, 1952 in Potsdam, the son of Howard and Rose Bleau Arquitt.

Allan attended Gouverneur schools and married Vernie Crawn on June 30, 1973 in Gouverneur with Rev. Simmons officiating.

He was employed at St. Joe Minerals for several years, and more recently, he worked in microfilming and as a janitor and assembly line worker. Allan enjoyed watching sports, fishing, camping, and was an avid New York Giants fan.

Allan is survived by his wife Vernie of Hermon, three daughters Betty Arquitt of Ogdensburg, Gail and Ralph Wylie of Edwards, Adriane and Paul Smith of Gouverneur, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by six brothers Larry of Hermon, Loren of Rensselaer Falls, Donald of Black River, Thomas of Virginia, Joseph of Syracuse, Matthew of Syracuse, three sisters Lela Wylie of California, Theresa Crawn of Massena, and Lynette Clary of Clare. Allan is predeceased by his parents and a brother Howard Arquitt.
