Respect human life

Abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, etc., are words and phrases heard commonly on a daily basis. All different words, yet all generating identical results — death to the human being.

For 39 years now, all we’ve heard about is freedom of “choice, choice and more choice.” We’ve gradually, steadily and conveniently bought the lie. So, now we accommodate and appease our consciences for killing the young, the old and the infirm by claiming it to be the “law of the land.”

We’ve listened to churchmen, educators and politicians. We’ve read newspapers, editorials and commentaries; we’ve studied, stressed and strained. And then we conveniently, selectively and purposefully denied the “truth.”

When our nation advocated a passive mentality regarding abortion-on-demand in 1973, the cloak word was “choice.” In the name of “choice,” we’ve now killed over 54.5 million pre-born babies since that time. It was wrong then; it is wrong now, but we do it anyway. A principled man once said, “No one has the right to do what is wrong.” His name was President Abraham Lincoln.

October is recognized as “Respect Life Month” in our nation. If we really respected human life, it seems we’d stop upholding so many ways of ending it.
