Calcium- Richard T. Hamblin, 84, Crysler Dr., Calcium, passed away Sunday at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where he had been a resident since September.
Graveside services with military honors will be 1 pm Friday, October 11th at Sanfords Corners Cemetery, Rt 342, Calcium. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
Richard was born in the Town of Watertown August 16, 1928, a son to Carl and Isabel LaRock Hamblin. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Richard was a truck driver with the Teamsters Local 687, driving for Seabury, Burns and P.I.E. trucking companies. He retired from the Teamsters after 38 years of service.
Mr. Hamblin was a 45 year member of the Black River American Legion Post 673 and the Watertown Elks. Richard was one of the founding members of the Calcium Youth Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving his truck.
Richard is survived by his wife Dorothy, retired Chief Clerk for the Watertown City Court. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Carl, John and Clarence Hamblin and two sisters Ethel Riley and Dorothy Killough.
