CARTHAGE, N.Y. — Michael L. Boyanski, 67, Carthage, passed away at his home on Thursday, Oct. 4.

Born Feb. 10, 1945, in Dexter, the son of John and Clara Baderman Boyanski, he graduated in 1963 from General Brown High School.

He joined the United States Navy, Co 262, in September 1963 and served until 1967. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Michael worked at various paper mills after his discharge from the Navy, including Boise Cascade paper mill and later Knowlton Technologies, where he was a Beater-Tower Engineer. He was employed by Knowlton’s for over 20 years, retiring in April.

A previous marriage to Deborah Borland ended in divorce.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, being out in his garage, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are three children and their spouses, Michael and Kelly Boyanski, Watertown, Crystal and Stephanie Boyanski, Watertown, and Patrick Boyanski, Watertown; five grandchildren, Colton, Raven, Brody, Noelle, and Adrianna; three brothers; Gary Boyanski, Dexter, William Boyanski, Brownville, and Richard Boyanski of Clayton.

A daughter, Kimberly, and several grandchildren, all died before him.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Brownville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or University of Rochester Paul N. Yu Heart Transplant Division; Rochester, N.Y.

Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
