Taxpayers and property owners who were planning to pay the late fee for the Watertown City School District’s tax bill will be paying less than they thought.

“The late fee for payments made November 6th through December 4th, 2012 that appears on the tax bill is inaccurate and reflects a larger fee than the 2 percent late fee that is appropriate,” according to a news release from the district office. “The correct calculation will reduce the amount of the late fee that appears on your tax bill.”

Taxpayers can call 785-3713 for a recalculation of the late fee. Those who pay the “incorrect penalty” will be refunded, according to the release.
