QB Gallagher guides Malone past Gouverneur, 34-14

GOUVERNEUR — Malone quarterback Mitchell Gallagher accounted for 290 yards as the Huskies crushed Gouverneur, 34-14, in the final day of the Northern Athletic Conference season on Saturday.

Gallagher rushed for 163 yards and passed for 127. He scored one rushing touchdown and passed for two for the Huskies (6-1), who clinched a spot in the state Class B playoffs with the win.

Tyrek Sneed rushed for 115 yards and scored two touchdowns for Malone.

Gouverneur (5-2) was led by quarterback Mark Horne, who rushed for 166 yards and scored two touchdowns.

TUPPER LAKE 28, ST. LAWRENCE 14

Jeremy Roussel and Mitch Keniston each rushed for more than 100 yards as Tupper Lake (2-5) defeated the Larries in Brasher Falls.

Roussel gained 129 yards for the Lumberjacks and Keniston rushed for 114. He also passed for 52 yards.

Devin Euto led the Larries (1-6) with 104 yards passing.

BEAVER RIVER 35, SOUTH LEWIS 0

Erik Lyndaker ran for 185 yards on 22 carries and scored three touchdowns as the host Beavers won their first game of the season in a Section 3 Class D Central contest at Beaver Falls.

Lyndaker’s TD runs were from 7, 10 and 25 yards. He also ran in a two-point conversion for Beaver River (1-6, 1-4), which led 28-0 at halftime.

Isaiah Riccio added a 12-yard touchdown run, and Kyle Steiner contributed a 52-yard TD run as the Beavers amassed 349 yards on the ground.

South Lewis fell to 0-7, 0-5.

CAzenovia 59, SOUTH jefferson 22

The Lakers scored the first 46 points en route to an easy Class B East win over the Spartans at Cazenovia.

Kevin Hopsicker passed for two scores and ran for a third for Cazenovia (6-1, 5-0). Alex Sullivan also contributed a running and passing touchdown.

Grae Haldeman and Dylan Beckstead scored on short runs for South Jefferson (0-7, 0-5) in the fourth quarter. Jacob Moulton passed 19 yards to Derik Hall for the Spartans’ third score.
