St. Lawrences Kyle Flanagan has been selected as ECAC Hockey Player of the Week.
The senior captain scored three goals and recorded an assist to lead the Saints in a season-opening split of two games at nationally-ranked Western Michigan last weekend.
The centerman assisted on the Saints first goal of the season a power-play tally by junior winger Greg Carey. He later stole the puck and scored an unassisted goal in the third period and St. Lawrence went on to edge the Broncos, 4-3 in overtime on Friday on Jeremy Wicks deciding goal.
Flanagan went on to score a pair of power-play goals in the Saints 3-2 loss to Western Michigan on Saturday.
In all, St. Lawrences top line of Flanagan, Carey (1-3-4) and Chris Martin (1-1-2) combined for 10 points over the two games.
The Saints return to action with two 7 p.m. games on Friday and Saturday at the University of Maine.
Last year, Flanagan (14-23-37) finished tied for the team lead in points with Carey (15-22-37), and became the first Saints junior since T.J. Trevelyan to reach the 100-point career plateau.
