LORRAINE The theft of an all-terrain vehicle and two appliances from a front yard in June was solved Monday because a buyer of the ATV couldnt get it registered, according to state police.
Robert M. Reczko, 23, of 30660 Route 3, Felts Mills, and Dillon M. Ashley, 17, of 17481 Route 11, Lot 47-N, Watertown, were charged Monday evening with fourth-degree grand larceny. They await arraignment in town of Lorraine Court and possible grand jury action.
They are accused of stealing the ATV, a gas range and a refrigerator from the front yard at the Patrick Bates residence, 19961 County Route 189, police said. The theft was reported on June 5.
Police said a woman bought the ATV recently, then discovered the vehicles identification number was missing, making it impossible for her to register it. She notified state police, who were able to trace the ATV to the suspects.
