WATSON State police on Thursday charged a third person in connection with an alleged road rage incident Sept. 27 on Austin Road in the town of Watson.
Joseph F. Rivers, 27, of 8245 VanAmber Road, Castorland, is facing charges of offering a false statement for filing, unsafe backing and crossing hazard markings. Police said he denied that he backed his vehicle into an auto operated by Johnathan L. Weiler, 26, of 6451 Pine Grove Road, Glenfield.
Mr. Weiler was charged Oct. 1 with offering a false written statement, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and crossing hazard markings. Police said he denied being a motorist during the incident, and his mother, Sheila M. Smith, 49, same address, claimed she, not her son, was driving. She also was charged with offering a false written statement.
