Heather A. Mims, 33, of 24851 Arbor Drive, is being held in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on a violation of probation and a charge of petit larceny.

Ms. Mims was sentenced in City Court to three years’ probation in August for criminal impersonation and falsifying business records, and she was jailed Wednesday for violating terms of probation.

Watertown police charged her Thursday with petit larceny in connection with a theft on the night of Sept. 18 at Stewart’s Shop, 1226 Washington St. She attempted to pay for a gasoline and merchandise purchase amounting to $29.44 with a credit card, but the card was declined, police said. She left the store promising to return with cash, but did not return, police said.
