MORRISTOWN A celebration of life for Maureen Knowles, age 69, of Morristown, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Shuman officiating. Mrs. Knowles passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Regional Hospital in Scranton, PA. Calling hours will be held 3:00-5:00 Monday, October 29, at Frary Funeral Home.
Maureen is survived by her husband, Paul, of 49 years; her daughters, Tara and her husband, Rick Bowers, of Newark, DE, Kelly Barnes of Essex, VT, Dana and her husband, Marc Mercurio, of Saratoga Springs, NY; her brother, James Dooley and his wife, Dana Hanson, of NH; her sisters, Nancy Ruepp of Bernardsville, NJ, Judy and her husband, Butch Hall, of Denville, NJ. She is also survived by six grandchildren. She is predeceased by four brothers Ronny, Tommy, Bernie, and Billy.
She was born August 30, 1943, in Lindenhurst, NJ the daughter of Ben and Florence (Hurbert) Dooley. She graduated from high school in 1961 in NJ. She married Paul Knowles January 26, 1963 at Mount Tabor, NJ with the Rev. Mahoney officiating. She first went to work at Farrands Flowers then went to work for Dr. Robert Hentschel as the receptionist for 18 years.
She enjoyed knitting, walking, reading, traveling, taking family vacations, and the Rideau Canal.
