A fatal motorcycle accident in Oneida County has claimed the life of a Rodman woman.
Sally A. Sugrue, 66, town of Rodman, was operating her 2006 Harley-Davidson about 3:20 p.m. Friday on Taberg/Florence Road when she lost control while trying to negotiate a curve, Oneida County sheriffs deputies said. The bike hit a guardrail, causing her to be ejected, deputies said.
Ms. Sugrue, a longtime Watertown businesswoman who owned Wildflower Art Gallery at 1310 Washington St., was taken by ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital, where she later died. The investigation into a cause is continuing.
Ms. Sugrue, who started her frame and gift shop in 1986 in the Paddock Arcade, had planned to sell the business and retire.
