Susan L. Cring died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, October 24, with her husband at her side.
Born July 15, 1939 in Malone, NY, she was the daughter of Louis and Rhoda King Jason. They both predeceased her.
She married Kenneth Cring on June 19th 1982 in Malone, NY, he survives.
Suzy lived all her life in Malone and attended Notre Dame School and later St. Josephs Academy, graduating from St. Josephs in 1957. She became employed at Puritan Laundry in her early years as a secretary. Later on she was employed by the Malone Central School District as head cook at Flanders School. Suzy retired from that position in 1987 after 12 years. She enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, woodcrafts and quilting, often surprising friends or relatives with homemade crafts or goodies. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, a member of the Ladies of the Elks #1303, and the Malone Lions Club.
Besides her husband of 30 years, she is survived by a half-brother, Ed Bennett of Massena, two children from a former marriage: Darlene (Coryea) Pagano and her companion Greg Silver of Saranac Lake, NY and Brian P. Coryea of Constable, NY; three step-sons and their spouses: Kenneth G. (Jerry) and Suzanne Cring of Wenham, MA, James P. Cring and his companion Michelle Duquette of Plattsburgh, NY and Andrew J. and Nicole (Parisian) Cring of Pleasanton, Ca; three step-daughters and their spouses: Joan M. and Steve DeFayette of Ticonderoga, NY, Loretta A. (Lori) and Peter Bifarella of Attica, NY and Jane M. and Dan Conners of Frankfort, NY, also 11 step-grandchildren and 2 great step-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday October 30, at 11 am in Notre Dame Church.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, CVPH in Plattsburgh, and the North Country Hospice in Malone for all the loving care they provided during Susans difficult illness.
Burial will take place in the family lot in Notre Dame Cemetery.
