The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is out with a new television advertisement this week that basically repeats the same claims that it has been making for the past few months: Republican Matt Doheny is out of touch with the north country and has Wall Street values.
I've taken issue before about the claim that Mr. Doheny worked for a company that "used cheap foreign labor." Fintech Advisory did indeed invest in companies in Mexico and Argentina, but if that makes one an investor in cheap foreign labor, I might as well fold my aggressive 401(K), which includes many international investments.
The only thing really new here is the panoramic shots of the Adirondacks, footage of farmers at work and the image of a sign for Fort Drum.
Mr. Doheny's opponent is Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh. The election is Nov. 6.
