NORWOOD Since the village decided not to lift an 8-ton weight limit on village roads, most trucks have found other routes, Mayor James H. McFaddin said.
Since the Sept. 17 Board of Trustees meeting, the village has posted local delivery only signs along several routes, affirming that the 8-ton limit does not affect trucks making deliveries directly to local stores.
So far, reaffirming the law seems to have been successful, Mr. McFaddin said.
Truck traffic on the roads has dramatically decreased, he said.
The law was protested at last months meeting, with some truckers saying they would continue making their normal trips regardless. So far, the mayor said, this has not been a problem.
