DWI wrap


The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Daniel P. Powell, 22, of 427 Sherman St., Carthage, also was charged by Watertown police at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Indiana Avenue with having insufficient headlights. His blood alcohol content was 0.14 percent, police said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication.

n Daniel A. Desrosiers, 25, of 28735 Gartland Road, Evans Mills, was charged by state police at 1:59 a.m. Sunday on County Route 16 in the town of LeRay with aggravated DWI. His BAC was 0.20 percent, troopers said. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

n Ronald J. Kampnich, 32, of 6411 Crestview Drive, Lowville, was charged Sunday morning by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies on Snell Road in the town of Watson at 12:35 a.m. His BAC was 0.12 percent, deputies said.

n Joshua R. Hartle, 21, Harrisville, was charged by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies Saturday morning on South Creek Road in the town of Diana. His BAC was 0.15 percent, deputies said.

n Patrick A. Jackson, 27, of 15205 Factory St., Depauville, was charged at 8:25 a.m. Sunday by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies following a property-damage accident on Case Road in the town of Lyme. His BAC was 0.14 percent, deputies said.

n Dillan J. Putney, 18, Lisbon, was charged by state police shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday on County Route 28 in Lisbon after he allegedly failed to dim his headlights and was operating his vehicle with a loud exhaust pipe. Police said he had a BAC of 0.15 percent.

n John R. Bartle, 25, of 720 Stonewood Drive, Apt. C, Philadelphia, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 4:30 a.m. Monday on Mechanic Street in Antwerp, and also faces a charge of driving at a speed not reasonable or prudent. He had a BAC of 0.17 percent, deputies said.

n Alicia D. Witzigman, 28, of 4145 Cherry St., Lyons Falls, was charged by state police at 2:40 a.m. Saturday on West Main Street in the town of Turin. Officers listed her BAC as 0.14 percent.

Charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs:

n Sarah Ann Ubriaco, 55, of 508 Cooper St., also was charged by Watertown police at 5:58 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Mill Street with driving on the shoulder of the road following a property-damage accident.
