■ The Sci-Tech Center of Northern New York, 154 Stone St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 12, which is Veterans Day. Students who bring in a newspaper clipping about a military veteran will receive half-price admission that day.

n CANTON — St. Lawrence University’s “Power of Pink” week — a series of events coordinated by student athletes to raise money for breast cancer awareness — raised $5,400, which students gave to the Gouverneur Business Women Breast Cancer Walk.

n CANTON — The village’s all-night parking ban takes effect Nov. 26 and will remain until March 31. Those who park on village streets from 2 to 6 a.m. during those months will receive a $10 parking ticket. If the car gets in the way of snowplows, it will be towed, incurring a $100 towing fee and $5 surcharge.
