DURHAM, N.C. – David N. Blodgett passed away on October 30, 2012 at his home in Durham. He was born December 13,1931, in Carthage NY. He was preceded in death by his father Jay E. Blodgett, his mother Doris Neville Blodgett, and his wife Patricia Francisco Blodgett.
He graduated from Carthage High School and attended St. Lawrence University before enlisting in the United States Navy. He graduated from Rhode Island State College before moving to Raleigh-Durham where he earned his Masters degree from North Carolina State University. He was an Industrial Arts teacher for over 25 years. He developed a computer system for Industrial Arts that was adopted as part of the North Carolina school systems. David enjoyed sailing, traveling in his RV, reading, and politics.
He is survived by his sister Jane Blodgett Hurley and husband Dan of Potsdam, NY; son Stuart (Ben) Blodgett and wife Doris of Knoxville, TN; daughter Athena Tembo of IL; grandsons Benjamin Blodgett and wife Kylie; Stephen Blodgett and wife Bronwyn; Nathan Jones, Travis Bower, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at a future date in Sandy Creek, NY.
