St. Lawrence junior Matt Weninger was selected as ECAC Hockey goalie of the week.

Weninger recorded his second shutout of the season with a 21-save effort in the Saints’ 3-0 victory at Alabama-Huntsville on Friday and then made 23 saves in St. Lawrence’s 3-1 win over the Chargers on Saturday.

The Lethbridge, Alberta native has allowed only two goals in the past four games and ranks third in the nation in goals against average (1.75) and second in save percentage (.952).

This is the third ECAC honor of the young season for Weninger, who was chosen as ECAC goalie of the month for October as well as goalie of the week on Oct. 23.

The Saints open their ECAC schedule at Brown on Friday and play at Yale on Saturday.

Also honored by the ECAC was Dartmouth forward Eric Robinson (player of the week) and Harvard forward Kyle Criscuolo (rookie of the week).
