Jefferson Community College fell behind by 18 points at halftime and couldn’t recover, dropping a 77-60 decision to visiting Herkimer CCC in college men’s basketball Thursday.

The Cannoneers (2-2 overall, 1-1 Region 3) trimmed the lead to eight points with 4 1/2 minutes remaining, but could get no closer.

Samuel Durodola led JCC with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Damien Jackson added 13 points.

Dequan Jefferson hit four 3-pointers and finished with 19 points and eight rebounds for the Generals (4-0, 3-0), ranked second in the region.

■ Victoria Seabrooks recorded a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, as Herkimer CCC defeated host Jefferson CC 49-38 in a Region 3 women’s game.

Whitney Brown paced the Generals (2-0) with 14 points.

Morgan Kiernan led the Cannoneers (1-2) with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
