CARTHAGE — Mary E. McGraw, 90, of 316 N. Washington St., died Saturday afternoon, November 10, 2012, in the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Carthage Area Hospital where she has resided since May.

Mrs. McGraw was born in Carthage on March 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Charles S. and Mabel A. Gonyou Raycraft. She was a 1939 graduate of Carthage High School. She married John M. McGraw on September 3, 1940 in the rectory of St. James Church. Mr. McGraw, former Village Clerk of Carthage for many years, died on September 18, 1992.

Mary was a clerk with the former Grants Store, Clark Johnson Store and Marge’s Dress Shop, all in Carthage. She was a member of St. James Church and former board member of the Carthage Free Library.

She is survived by a son: David J. McGraw of West Carthage, a daughter: Joan Bender of Williamsburg, VA, 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A son, Vincent P. McGraw and a brother, Charles Raycraft are predeceased.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30am - 10:30am on Wednesday at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
