BOURNE, Mass. Brent Tamane notched his first hat trick of the season as the Thousand Islands Privateers routed the Cape Cod Bluefins, 6-1, to snap a three-game losing streak in a Federal Hockey League contest at Gallo Ice Arena on Saturday night.
Thousand Islands (5-4) used a four-goal first period and never trailed.
Chris Greene chipped in with a goal and two assists for the Privateers, Justin MacDonald added a goal and an assist, and Zak Ray had a goal for Thousand Islands.
Matt Anthony stopped 33 shots in goal for his fifth victory of the year.
Brian Yanovitch scored a power-play goal with less than five minutes left for Cape Cod (3-4) to spoil Anthonys shutout bid.
Scott Barchard made 32 saves for the Bluefins.
Thousand Islands hosts the Danville Dashers for a pair of games on Thursday and Friday at 7:35 p.m. at the Watertown Municipal Arena.
The Privateers will finish up the week with a game against the Danbury Whalers next Saturday at 7:35 p.m.
