LAWRENCE A pair of North Lawrence residents were treated for minor injuries after the car in which they were riding slammed into a garage after the driver tried to avoid a deer in the road.
State police said the car, driven by Tressa L. Woods, 38, was westbound on Route 11 when she swerved off of the road attempting to avoid the animal at 5:05 p.m. Friday.
Troopers said the car then hit an embankment and went airborne, before landing and traveling approximately 150 feet farther, coming to rest after striking the garage at 10956 Route 11.
Troopers said Ms. Woods was treated at the scene for injuries to her left leg. A passenger in the vehicle, Donald Burnham, 67, was also treated at the scene for a minor head injury.
No tickets were issued.
