A city police patrol alleged finding a woman passed out from intoxication early Monday, leaving her 7-month-old daughter unattended in their apartment.

Brittany M. Collins, 21, of 1620 Huntington St., Apt. G-4, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police were sent to the apartment at 1:20 a.m. to check the welfare of a child, and an officer was unable to get an answer at the door. The officer found an unlocked window and used it to enter the apartment. The officer found Ms. Collins passed out, and awoke her.

The baby was born on April 11, police said.
