WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. Michael Madding scored the game-winning goal with less than a minute to play in overtime to give ninth-seeded Williams College a 2-1 sudden victory over No. 13 St. Lawrence University in the second round of the NCAA Division III mens soccer tournament Sunday.
The Saints ended their season with 14-3-3 record. Sophomore Jamal Samaroo scored the only goal for St. Lawrence just 28 seconds into the game.
Mohammed Rashid then tied the game in 80th minute for the Ephs (15-1-2), who will move on to the round of 16.
■ The St. Lawrence mens cross country team received an at-large bid on Sunday for the NCAA Division III championships.
It will be the fifth straight year the Saints will compete in the race, scheduled for Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind. The womens team qualified automatically with its victory in Saturdays regional event.
