MASSENA - Businessman James Farbotnik, 57, was found dead in his home on Route 37 by police responding to a 911 call made at about 5 a.m. today.
Senior investigator Judy Trimboli, state police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Massena, said an autopsy will be scheduled.
Mr. Farbotnik operated a computer repair store in downtown Massena. His wife had been found dead in a pond on the couples property in the early morning of Memorial Day 2011. The investigation into her death is ongoing.
The couple have five children - ranging in age from high school to elementary school students. Ms. Trimboli said state police are working with the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services Child Protective Services for the short-term placement of the five children. Several miniature horses and other animals at Mr. Farbotniks property are being taken care of by an animal control officer.
