CANTON — Christopher A. teRiele, 20, an inmate at the St. Lawrence County jail, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.

Mr. teRiele was allegedly found to be in possession of an unidentified narcotic.

He was arraigned in Canton Village Court and sent back to the jail on $5,000 cash bail.
