A drive to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on Wednesday afternoon proved to be a poor decision for a suspended motorist and his passenger, according to Watertown police.

Jeremy L. Flowers, 24, of 642 Bronson St., and Cortney L. Tanner, 19, of 1144 Gill St., went to the PSB to claim some belongings, police said.

Ms. Tanner had just been arrested Tuesday on a charge of harassment after she allegedly shoved an officer who issued her a summons for having excessive window tint on her vehicle.

Having accomplished that, the couple drove away, with an officer seeing Mr. Flowers driving Ms. Tanner’s car. The officer knew that Mr. Flowers’s license is suspended, police said.

The auto was halted at about 1:45 p.m. in the 100 block of South Meadow Street, and police found in the vehicle two baseball caps, each priced at $29.99, which were allegedly shoplifted from Lids, Salmon Run Mall.

The two were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and Mr. Flowers was additionally charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving a vehicle having excessive window tint. Ms. Tanner is also charged with facilitating aggravatated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana.
