A city man was charged with felony second-degree strangulation early Thursday morning, accused of putting a choke hold on a woman that caused her to lose consciousness.
Joshua M. Doyle, 34, of 165 Union St., was additionally cited by Watertown police with second-degree harassment. He arraigned before part-time Watertown City Judge Catherine J. Palermo, who released him without bail.
Police said the charges stem from a domestic fight at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the apartment of the victim, Ashlee F. Hubbard, 25, of 722 W. Main St. Pressure was applied to her throat while she was being restrained against a refrigerator, causing her to suffer pain and to pass out, police said.
