An inmate at Watertown Correctional Facility, Dry Hill, was charged Thursday by state police with first-degree promoting prison contraband and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Police said Abdullah Quaid, 27, was found possessing a small razor blade late the afternoon of Oct. 27 at the prison. He remains in custody at the facility and awaits grand jury action.
Mr. Quaid is serving a term of up to two and a half years given him in Queens County for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.
