Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Schweitzer, 22164 Route 343, observed their 60th wedding anniversary today. They will celebrate with a dinner at Sboros Restaurant, hosted by their children.
Mr. Schweitzer, son of the late Frederick W. and Florence E. Schweitzer, and May Seychel, daughter of the late Emmanuel Seychel and Elsie V. Knowlton, were married on Nov. 16, 1952, at Stone Street Presbyterian Church with the late Rev. Thomas J. Carlisle officiating. Honor attendants were the late Frederick F. and Marianne Schweitzer, brother and sister-in-law of the groom.
Mrs. Schweitzer graduated from Watertown High School in 1952. She is a homemaker and was formerly employed by the Watertown Daily Times. She enjoys gardening, cooking and reading.
Mr. Schweitzer graduated from Brownville-Glen Park High School in 1952. He retired after 55 years as general manager of Morrisons Furniture Store, Watertown. Mr. Schweitzer is a member and past president of Watertown Rotary Club, serves on the advisory board of Salvation Army and is a member of Rustic Golf Club. He enjoys gardening and golf and is a fine-furniture woodworker.
Mr. and Mrs. Schweitzer are members of Stone Presbyterian Church and the choir. Mr. Schweitzer is a member of the church session. They enjoy time at their summer home on Pillar Point, Dexter.
The couple has two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Robert Siver Jr., and Roxanne and Roger Young, all of Watertown; and four grandchildren.
