UNLAWFUL DEALING - MASSENA - Village police charged Shane M. Church, 19, of 603 County Route 5, Dickinson Center, with three counts of unlawfully dealing with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child Saturday following an investigation into an underage drinking incident on Halloween night.
Police said Church provided vodka and tequilla to a 14-year-old female at 8:10 p.m. Oct. 31 on the railroad trestle near East Orvis Street. The 14 year old became sick and was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment. He also provided alcohol to an 18-year-old female and an 18-year-old male,
Church was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
One of the girls told police the trio drank about half the bottle of vodka, and they each had a few shots of tequilla. The other female said she didnt see Church drinking when they were on the railroad trestle. Both girls reportedly became sick after drinking.
