A Clayton man was charged Saturday night with first-degree dissemination of indecent material to a minor after Jefferson County sheriffs deputies set up a false respondent to a Craiglist posting of his asking for a teenage girl.
Kenneth P. Louviere, 43, also was charged with luring a child, second-degree attempted rape and second-degree attempted criminal sex act.
According to a press release from the department, the sheriffs and district attorneys offices first tracked Louviere after receiving a tip about the Craigslist post.
During the departments investigation, Louviere reportedly sent multiple emails and text messages to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl, but was instead a sheriffs detective. He was arrested about 8:40 p.m. when he came to the town of Watertown for an alleged arranged sexual encounter.
Arraigned in Brownville Town Court, was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held on $20,000 bail.
