CORTLAND The Chateaugay girls soccer team dominated its competition in a state semifinal game, rocking Smithtown-Christian 6-1, on Saturday afternoon to clinch a berth in the Class D championship game.
Chateaugay (21-0) advanced to Sundays state title game, where it will face Section 3s Poland (21-1) at 1 p.m.
We picked the best time of the year to have our best game of the year, said Chateaugay coach Steve Lang.
Alexis Beach scored three goals and assisted on another for the Bulldogs. Katie Beach provided three assists, and Courtney Boyea scored twice. Hannah Cook added a goal.
Goalie Makayla Fleury made two saves against Smithtown-Christian (9-6-1), which received a goal from Kristina Reuter with less than three minutes left in the game.
