City police charged Ruth E. Hoose, 21, of 43011 Route 3, Natural Bridge, and Billiejo L. Abremo, 33, of 600 S. Washington St., Carthage, following the theft of a tablet computer from the Kinney Drugs store on the 1300 block of Washington Street.

According to police, Ms. Hoose took the 7-inch Proscan tablet, valued at $119.99, concealed it and left the store without paying at 9:22 a.m. Thursday. Ms. Abremo was accused of aiding the theft by serving as a lookout and blocking the view of others while the table was removed.

Ms. Hoose, arrested at her residence at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, and Ms. Abremo, arrested at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building at 2:55 p.m., were processed and released by police with appearance tickets for City Court.
