A woman who was briefly the junior varsity cheerleading coach at General Brown High School was arrested Saturday by state police on allegations she pocketed money intended for cheerleaders uniforms.
Amber M. Doner, 27, of 312 Weldon Drive, is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. She was released with orders to appear in town of Brownville Court.
Police said Miss Doner, a 2003 General Brown graduate, was hired in August and was provided money for the purchase of uniforms and other supplies. She made partial purchases, but then resigned from her job, police said. The school was subsequently unsuccessful in recovering $1,041 of the advanced money from Miss Doner, police said.
The coaching job was her only position with the school, police said.
