COLLINS LANDING A 17-year-old Philadelphia youth was found possessing 104 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a duffle bag late Thursday night at U.S. Customs on Wellesley Island, according to state police.
Michael A. Iffland Jr., 27004 Antwerp St., was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released with orders to appear in town of Orleans Court.
Police said a Customs inspector initially found the youth possessing a small quantity of the substance, and that prompted a vehicle search that led to discovery of the duffle bag.
Mr. Iffland also awaits grand jury action on charges of third-degree burglary, fifth-degree arson, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, filed in June in connection with the theft and burning of a persons mail.
