The parents of Katie A. Marcinko, Auburn, formerly of Watertown, and Joseph Allen Hockey, Auburn, announce the couple’s engagement.

Miss Marcinko, daughter and stepdaughter of Candice and David Gerken, Watertown, and daughter of the late Guy V. Marcinko, graduated in 2000 from Watertown High School and received a bachelor’s degree in theater from SUNY Plattsburgh. She is working on an associate degree in veterinary technology at Penn Foster College and is employed by Springside Inn, Auburn.

Mr. Hockey, son of Jeffrey Hockey and Libby Leonello-Hockey, Auburn, graduated in 2005 from Port Byron High School, Auburn, and in 2011 from Paul Smith’s College, Paul Smiths, with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is employed by Nucor Steel, Auburn.

An Aug. 17 wedding is planned.
