A Fort Drum man who allegedly punched his wife in the face several times and choked her was jailed Sunday under $1,000 bail.

Joseph I. Dukes, 27, is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation, harassment and driving without a license.

He was arraigned before LeRay Town Justice George E. Mead III and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

State police said his wife, Natasha, 20, declined treatment for face injuries. The domestic fight occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the couple’s residence at 9607B Forsythe Loop, Fort Drum, police said.
