MARTINSBURG Two Lowville men were arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a town of Martinsburg garage and stealing gasoline jugs.
Lewis County sheriffs deputies charged Tyler Lashbrooks, 22, and Daniel Eckelman, 20, with third-degree burglary.
Both were arraigned in Lowville Town Court, with Mr. Lashbrooks sent to Lewis County jail, Lowville, on $5,000 bail and Mr. Eckelman released on his own recognizance.
The two were accused of, on Nov. 7, entering a garage on Centerville Road and taking three racing gas jugs. The stolen property was recovered at Mr. Eckelmans residence, deputies said.
Mr. Lashbrooks in February was sentenced in Lewis County Court to five years probation and restitution on a charge of fourth-degree grand larceny for helping to steal a 2001 Honda dirt bike in the town of Watson.
He and Mr. Eckelman earlier this month were charged by state police with fourth-degree criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a vehicle in the Lowville Walmart parking lot.
