Antonio Figueroa scored a game-high 21 points and hauled in eight rebounds as the Copenhagen Golden Knights defeated the LaFargeville Red Knights in a FL “D” Division game in Copenhagen.
Figueroa, a sophomore, scored seven of his team’s nine points in overtime as Copenhagen (1-1) won its first game. Kody Petrus added 13 points for the Golden Knights.
Eric Doolittle scored 19 points to lead the Red Knights (0-2), and Tim Cramer contributed 10 points.A pair of north country girls basketball coaches joined the 300-victory club on Thursday night.
COACHES WIN 300TH GAMES
South Jefferson defeated Watertown, 66-17, to provide Pat Bassett with his 300th coaching win as did Hammond coach Shawn Dack in his team’s 70-36 victory over Potsdam in Northern Athletic Conference play. Dack led Hammond to state Class D title in 2007 and 2008.
In Frontier League play, Brooke VanCoughnett led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Spartans routed the Cyclones in Watertown.
Marisa Clark contributed 12 points for South Jefferson (1-0). Austin Stephens and Jenny McLean also had 10 points.
Morgan Cadwell paced Watertown (0-1) with seven points.
THOUSAND ISLANDS 77, BEAVER RIVER 26
Alesha Waterman scored a game-high 15 points to spark the Vikings to a FL victory over the Beavers (0-1) in a “C” Division game in Clayton.
Kristin McGraw added 13 points for Thousand Islands (2-0), and Erica Sullivan chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds.
HAMMOND 70, POTSDAM 36
Alyssa Crosby scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Red Devils in a nonleague opener for both schools in Hammond.

Josh Keruski’s 21 points powered the Patriots to a “D” Division win in Belleville.
Zach Rousseau had 19 points for Sackets Harbor (2-0). Colton Belcher scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Troy Wilson poured in 30 points and had seven assists, six rebounds and five steals as the Indians downed the Purple Ghosts in “D” Division play in Alexandria Bay.
Kody Goutremont chipped in with 11 points for Lyme (2-0), which held Alexandria to 10 first-half points.
Nik Shangraw scored 17 points for Alexandria (0-2).
IHC 43, GENERAL BROWN 41
Jude Whalen scored a game-high 19 points, including coverting on seven of eight free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter, as the Cavaliers edged the Lions in a crossover game in Dexter.
IHC (2-0) made 19 of 24 free-throw attempts against General Brown (0-2).
Cole Johnson had eight rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead the Lions.

Alex Hall paced the Beavers with 27 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots as they held off the Vikings for a “C” Division win in Beaver Falls.
Dustin Neddo added 10 points for the Beavers (1-0).

Kyle Malik supplied 18 points as the Red Raiders held off the Comets for a “C” Division win in a season opener for both teams in Lowville.

Jenna Hibbard powered the Cyclones with 17 assists, four aces and three kills as they earned a FL interdivision win, 25-12, 25-19, 25-14, over the Rebels in Watertown in a season opener for both teams.
Susan Carambot chipped in 14 service points and five aces for Watertown (1-0). Nemesis Ruiz had 10 kills.

Olivia Parmeter scored 14 of her 19 points in the second half as Madrid-Waddington (2-0) defeated the Bulldogs in the title game of the Jessie Chamberlain Tournament in Madrid.
Jenny King finished with nine points and Tes Knight struck for eight points for the Yellow Jackets.
Alexis Weidner tallied 14 points for Heuvelton (1-1), which got within three points on a Kylie Piercey basket with seven seconds to play.

Alex Amo scored 14 of her career-high 22 points in the first half and combined with Beth Crowley to score 11 of Lisbon’s 16 points as the Golden Knights (1-1) pulled away from Edwards-Knox in the fourth quarter in the consolation game of the Jessie Chamberlain Tournament in Madrid.
Crowley finished with seven points and nine rebounds, and Jackie Sovie tallied nine points.
