Renovations for Blevins Bros. recreational vehicles sales and service in the town of Oswegatchie will probably be done in January, but the new business wont be open for another month after that.
Vice President Lynn L. Blevins said Friday that renovations at the site of the former Woods Fruit and Vegetable Market, 7384 Route 68, are proceeding on schedule. Outside, the parking lot is filling up with snowmobiles, trailers and motor homes. Inside, the service, sales and showroom are being developed.
We hope to have everything operational by Jan. 1, Mr. Blevins said. The grand opening is Feb. 1.
Mr. Blevinss company paid $200,000 for the 8.22-acre property earlier this year. It used to be Woods Fruit and Vegetable Market until that business went bankrupt.
Until they were relocated earlier this fall, the recreational vehicles were display at the Blevins familys nearby flagship business, Blevins Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep at 5914 Route 812.
The renovations to the former Woods property will cost an estimated $200,000.
The new dealership will employ six workers full time. Four of them will move between there and the Ogdensburg dealership. The other two will be new hires.
The Blevinses other auto dealerships are in Potsdam, Massena and two in Gouverneur. They sell Chrysler, Jeep, Ford and Dodge vehicles.
